Jon Coghill (Jonny Cakes) was in his first band at the age of 13 and hasn’t looked back since then. He has been performing on bass or guitar in the tri-state area for over 25 years and has played/recorded with Tas Cru, Maria Muldaur, Electric Rubyfish, The Rick Z Band , The Real Men, Mambo Kikongo, Sonando, Los Tainos, Los Chingones, Tangoman, Peggy Stern, Ari-up, Millenium-7, The Flash Band, The Reverend Thunderbear Traveling Road Show, and many more.
Jon holds a BA in communications and a minor in music from Marist college, and he also studied music at the University of Hartford and the Camerata Conservatory before relocating to NY.
Longtime drummer Bob Schnitzer (aka Bobby Lee), has played in many local bands, including “The Krumville All Stars”, “The Famous Lees of Krumville”, and the Ben Rounds Band.
Bob sings lead and harmony and has also written three songs performed and recorded by “The Famous Lees of Krumville”. Also with “The Famous Lees of Krumville”, he recorded four tracks on the CD Twenty Pound Blues: Songs of Lucky Timson with John Wirtz.
When Bob isn’t playing music, he teaches welding to high school students at Ulster BOCES in Port Ewen. He and his wife, Mary, own a 24-acre horse farm in Samsonville. Bob is also a Coast Guard licensed captain and operates a fishing/whale watch/sightseeing charter boat out of Cape Cod.
J.B.Randall was born at a very early age in Austin,Texas. Surrounded by blues, rock, and country in a college town, his background in music was established immediately. When his family relocated to Ulster County, NY, he started singing with the junior choir at church and with the chorus in grade school. By the time “Randy”, as he’s called by his many friends,was in high school, he was already writing and performing in his first band. J.B. has played with many local favorites including Shadows of Reality, 11:09, Mustang, Southfork, Junior Johnny & Kid Blues, and the legendary Dick Elliot Bertling, as well as working with several notable acts such as Albert Collins, Dickie Betts, Hot Tuna, Little Texas, and Hank Thompson.
When time allowed, “Randy” also did a lot of volunteer work with the mentally handicapped and worked in retail management positions for various area businesses. Most notably in that field, he was an expert and highly respected certified service and repair technician for Allegro Music in Kingston,NY.
Aside from playing live music, J.B. has J.B.R. Entertainment which provides FOH sound for live shows, as well as rentals of pa equipment, amplifiers, and drums for musicians and several area venues. J.B. continues to do service, repairs, etc. for a limited clientele from his home in Rosendale,NY.
J.B.s favorite endeavor is still performing live music and considers his fans the “real music”. After all, you get what you give…..
